Karen Alsop is a renowned photographic artist and founder of the Story Art Gallery, a creative space inside Melbourne’s historic Tram 772. Blending heritage with contemporary artistry, the gallery showcases her celebrated photographic works, ceramics, mixed media, and augmented reality creations, offering visitors a multisensory experience rooted in both history and innovation.

She is also the founder of The Heart Project, an initiative where hundreds of volunteers worldwide create magical portraits for children in hospitals through the annual Christmas Wish Project—reflecting Karen’s belief in the healing power of art.

Beyond photography, Karen works with wild local clay, Puffing Billy ash, natural fibres, and reclaimed metals to craft unique ceramic pieces that weave nature and history into her art. These distinctive elements define the Story Art Gallery, where heritage and creativity come together.
